JOHN KIRK MCKENZIE Peacefully with family at his side, on Friday, January 15, 2016 at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, Dr. John Kirk McKenzie, beloved husband of Irene McKenzie passed away at the age of 83 years. As a -then- young researcher, I gave my probably first Grand Round, on health information privacy, in Winnipeg. Dr. McKenzie was my host. I still remember the hospitality I received there, and how Dr. McKenzie and his wife welcomed me in their home, shared with me their stories of life and health care work in Winnipeg, reflecting their integrity and their commitment to the community. I received as a gift a a drawing of a then young aboriginal artist who they supported and frequently housed as a guest. The art work has a very special place in our house.
