ALEKSANDER (ALEX) PATAPOW 1927 - 2016 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Alex Patapow, aged 88, on January 13, 2016. Alex was predeceased by his family in Russia; his beloved wife Jacquiline; and daughter Linda. Alex will be deeply missed by his sons, Richard and Leonard (Buck); grandchildren, Rick and Ealisha Patapow, Dan Smiley, Michele and Stephan Towle, Braydon and Jackie Patapow; four great-grandchildren Madison, Mathew, Kaitlyn, and Carley. Alex was born in Russia in 1927 and fought for Russia in the Second World War. After the war he found himself in England where he learned English and moved to Canada with his friend Steve Habrowski, finally settling in Winnipeg. Alex was a proud business owner and had a passion in real estate. He enjoyed dancing and playing his accordion for family. The family would like to thank the staff at Middlechurch home for the excellent care Alex received. A private interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimers Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
