PETER JOHN YASCHYSHYN It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Peter Yaschyshyn at the Grace Hospital on Sunday, January 17, 2016, 11 days before his 80th birthday. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 57 years, Alice, his children Richard (Donna), Donna (Clive) and Greg of Toronto. He was a proud Grandpa to Zac, Shanlee and Alex. He will also be missed by his brother Walter (Florence), sister Florence Marston, along with his nephews, nieces, cousins, and his only surviving aunt, Jessie. He was born on January 28, 1936 in the Fishing River area. He was predeceased by his parents Michael and Passy. Respecting Peter's wishes there will be no formal service. Cremation has taken place and a family memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 1160 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. My grandfather was a wonderful man. He would take me to baseball games, car rides and out for lunch. I never got to see him before he died, he was asleep for a bit before he died. I miss him. - Posted by: Alex (Grandson) on: Dec 09, 2019

I did not know Peter very well, but we did spend some time chatting in his back yard several years ago during the family reunion. I am sure he had a rich full life and lived every minute of it.
