MICHAEL SHALAGAN March 17, 1938 - January 17, 2016 On January 17, 2016, Mike Shalagan passed away at Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital at the age of 77, surrounded by his wife and family. He is survived by his wife Faye of 47 years and five children; Brenda (Blaine), Karen (Rick), Nikki (Chris), Carol, John (Carrie). He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren; Jenn, Michael, Jess, Lilly, Ryan, Olivia, Tucker, Alexandra, Brent and Cassidy. His brother-in-law Wayne (Brenda) Hamaberg and numerous nieces and nephews. Mike was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Shalagan, brother Andy Shalagan, grandson Trent Chartrand, in-laws Roger and Lillian Hamaberg and sister-in-law Kathryn Smaldon. Mike lived doing what he dreamed of and loved farming. In 1967, he bought his homestead where Mom and him still resided. In 1968, he married his love of his life, Faye and started a family. He took great pride in teaching his children and grandchildren about the land and raising livestock. Mike believed in hard work and family were what life was made for. He did both of these with all his heart. Mike was the kind of guy who would help and give advice to those close to him, if you wanted it or not. Viewing will be held at 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Teulon on Friday, January 22, 2016. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the Teulon Rockwood Centennial Centre.
