MICHAEL RUF September 25, 1940 January 20, 2016 It is with great sadness our family announces the passing of Michael Ruf due to a long battle with cancer. Michael will be missed by his wife Eva Maria of 54 years, son Reiner (Wendy) Ruf, Daughters Cindy (Bob) Lesuk, Sabina (Merl) Dillabough, grandchildren Sean, Colton-Lee, Justice, Jolene, Delaney and Amelia. Michael was born September 25, 1940. He was 7th out of 11 siblings. Michael came to Canada in 1960. In Winnipeg he met the love of his life, Eva Maria and they were married on June 24, 1961. They had three children. In 1970 Michael started his own painting and decorating business. His hobbies were playing cards (Skat), singing in the church choir and bowling. In 1995 Mike and Eva Maria moved to Kelowna to start a new business. A very successful Bed and Breakfast named Apple Blossom. They moved back to Winnipeg in 2008 and the family was once again all back together. The family would like to thank the palliative nurses and doctors at HSC for their care and compassion. Special thanks to Bill Burchuk for all the care and continued support over the years. Funeral services will take place Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 355 Andrews St., Winnipeg, MB. Reception to follow at St. Joseph's hall.
