OLGA ARMSTRONG With her family by her side, Olga sadly passed away on January 24, 2016 at the age of 90. Olga was predeceased by her husband William (Bill), who passed away suddenly on February 2, 1985, and her brother Gordon on June 22, 2008. She leaves two cherished sons: Gordon (Elizabeth) of Niverville, MB and Kenneth (Jane) of Williamsburg, Virginia, USA. She leaves seven grandchildren: Michael (Amy), Steven (Christine), Tyler (Michelle), Nanci (Rob), Tonya (Toby), Aaron (Amanda), and Casey (Vanessa). She also leaves nine great-grandchildren: Easton, Abigail, Sophia, Ava, William, Conner, Madison, Luke and Everly. Olga grew up and went to school in the North End of Winnipeg. She married William (Bill) Armstrong on June 22, 1951. They were married for 33 years before Bill's sudden passing in 1985. She lived most of her adult life in East and eventually North Kildonan before relocating to the Niverville Credit Union Manor in 2013. Olga worked outside the home for many years at Imperial Oil, William E. Mercer and Turnbull and Turnbull as an actuarial assistant. In her home she loved to cook and sew and was a very fussy housekeeper. Though she was a strict enforcer of rules, she had a heart of gold admired by those who knew her best. Many thanks to the staff of both the Niverville Credit Union Manor and the Heritage Personal Care Home for not only helping her cope with dementia in her latter years, but who cared deeply for her and went the extra mile to help make life as enjoyable and memorable as possible. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, with son Gordon Armstrong officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
