Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLORRAINE MARIE DIANE BOUVIER (née SABOURIN) August 15, 1943 - January 22, 2016 With family by her side, our loving Maman passed away peacefully on Friday, January 22, 2016, at the age of 72. She was predeceased by her sisters Pauline (Claude Préfontaine), Lucille Sabourin SGM and Viviane Sabourin. She is survived by her three brothers Jean-Paul (Maureen), Laurent and Joseph (Dolores). She leaves in mourning numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Born in Lisieux, Saskatchewan, to Paul and Georgiana Sabourin, she was educated in Lisieux and St-Norbert. She received her L.P.N. licence from the St-Boniface Hospital in 1963 as valedictorian. She started her nursing career at the Willowbunch Hospital in Saskatchewan. After her marriage to Henri, they moved to Powerview in 1966, where she also worked at the Pine Falls Hospital. They moved to St-Léon in 1974 where she worked at Lorne Memorial Hospital in Swan Lake until her retirement in 2001. She continued working for South Central Health in Palliative Care. They moved to Willowbunch, SK in 2003 where she introduced and shared her love for Palliative Care. In 2013, they moved to Ste Agathe, MB to be closer to family. Raised in a family of musicians, she had a passion for music. Her dedication to church music started at the age of 13. She directed choirs, sang in choirs, performed cantatas and even played as a bass player in a band. In her later years, she developed a love for the violin, playing her grandfather's fiddle. Another force in her life was the strength of her faith, which helped her with her battle with multiple myeloma for the last almost seven years. Her faith drove her formation in lay ministry, Nathanaël, in 2001 to 2004. She was a lady. We would also like to thank her "sisters" Alice Epp and Agnès Remillard for their loyal support. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Médecins Sans Frontiers Canada (Doctors Without Borders). www.msf.ca or 720 Spadina Ave., Suite 402, Toronto, ON M5S 2T9.
