ALICE (KOLODZIEJ) KOLOGIE Peacefully, surrounded by love and family, mom went to heaven on January 26, 2016 at the Tudor House. Mom is cherished and mourned by children Susanne (George), Mike (Theresa), Richard (Judy), Emily, and Sandra (Scott), as well as eight grandchildren, five great-granddaughters and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her husband Mike. She was the last survivor of Zigmond and Susan Burney and predeceased by sisters Irene and Emily. She was proud of her Hungarian heritage. She had many illnesses after her stroke in 2014 in which she fought so bravely and courageously. Mom's heart was broken after losing her beloved Mike in 2010 and missed him every single day. In 1950 mom met the love of her life and settled in Libau, Manitoba. Mom worked hard all her life, working on the farm and raising five children. To help support the family mom worked at the Jewish Post in Winnipeg as office manager, commuting four hours per day via the Pine Falls bus. Mom enjoyed travelling throughout Canada and the USA with dad. Together they enjoyed the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and curling. She was an avid bridge player, a great dancer (only dancing with Mike) and enjoyed bingo and casinos. Mom especially loved Christmas when all the family would get together. In later years mom took care of dad until his passing. She sacrificed everything for husband and family. As per mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private service is being held for immediate family. Interment to be held at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined but please hug your loved ones. Thanks to the staff at Tudor House. "Love you, Love you more" Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com
