Bernice was a strong happy person. Always helping her kids and grandkids. Fabien and her were a match made in heaven. They both loved nature and wildlife. Bernice loved to collect things like dolls, pins and had the most extensive collection of newspaper clippings of events that happened in and around St. Malo, she even started a collection of peoples nicknames in town, because some people were know by their nicknames and she was wondering what was their real name and why were they given that nickname, it was quite interesting. You will be missed, our deepest sympathies go out to her family and friends. I'm sure you'll keep a watchful eye on them. May God Bless you. - Posted by: Noel & Rose Preteau (Friend of Family) on: Feb 05, 2016

Ma Tante Bernice became my care provider when we moved to St. Malo and mom started working full time. I was in Grade 2 at the time. I suspect that sometimes she would have her fill of us when we (Gerry, Marcel, Eugene and I) would take over the house chasing each other around so she would send us outside to explore the various wildlife that seemed to accumulate at the Preteau residence. Ma tante Bernice would open her heart and her home to all the small animals that needed shelter at one time or another. The list is extensive; from dogs, cats, pheasants, crows, to even a couple of baby foxes! She was always ready to feed them as well as the kids! I have many fond memories of her that will never fade! Rest well ma tante! You will always be in my heart! - Posted by: Robert Courcelles (nephew) on: Feb 03, 2016

I loved going to see her, she always had interesting stories about the past and days gone by, she was always so friendly, caring, and thankful for everything we did for her no matter how little it was. She was an amazing lady and she will be dearly missed - Posted by: Hayley (Home Care worker) on: Feb 02, 2016

Met Bernice 8 years ago when I moved to the Chalet, we became very close friends, Bernice, with her other friends and myself had many happy hours together which will always be a memory. We tried different restaurants in the province, when Bernice was not able to drive any longer happy hours still carried on more so as always she had moved into the Chalet then she didn't need to worry about driving home. - Posted by: Rose Bodz (very close friend for a short time --- 8 years) on: Feb 02, 2016
