RICHARD LESLIE BOISCLAIR 1953 - 2016 Richard Boisclair passed away suddenly at home on February 2, 2016 at the age of 62. Rick was predeceased by his mom Lorna and dad Alphonse. Rick is survived by his wife Wendy and son Jamie as well as their dog precious. His brother Neil, Maureen and Amanda. Sister Linda, Mike, children Ron, great-nephew Ryan, Doug, Andrea (Dominique). Father-in-law and good friend George Golembiski, brother-in-law Kevin Sr., sister-in-law Pam, children Kevin Jr., nephews Julius and Tyler, niece Lindsay, David and new great-niece Quinn, whom he adored. Also Auntie Madeline and many cousins. Rick had far too many friends to name them all but they know who they are. Rick was retired from MTS after 30 years service and currently was in his 10th year at Piston Ring part time . Rick was an avid sports fan, whether it be his 40 years of 5 and 10 pin league bowling or going to the Red River Co-op Speedway track to watch and be with his friends. He especially liked going to Greenbush, MN for racing over the September long weekend. Rick was never without something to say to someone or anyone, who responded to his great big smile, which he always wore. He was a loving and devoted husband helping to take care of Wendy who suffers from MS and COPD. And, yes there were complaints along the way, but when all is said and done, Rick was Wendy's rock. Rick was a loving father to Jamie and an all around good man. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Interment and reception will follow. Viewing will take place one hour prior to service. Donations can be made to Heart and Stroke Manitoba if so desired. Condolences & Memories (29 entries)

  • I remember having chats with you when I worked at 1300 Ellice. No matter how bad my day was going I would always leave feeling good. You had a knack of making people feel good after talking to you. My son in-law Kevin Delaine races at Red River Co-op Speedway and you never missed coming over to talk how his race went whether he won or lost. I will miss those times with you at the track Richard but will always remember your terrific smile. My condolences to the family and they should be proud of the affect you had on so many people. RIP my friend and race hard. - Posted by: Greg Hanischuk (Former MTS employee and racing fan) on: Feb 19, 2016

  • Richard was one of the first people I met and trained with when I started at MTS over 28 years ago. He always had a smile, a story, an interesting tidbit to share. He would always ask me how my family was doing and to say Hi to them when we were done. Good Bye Richard, you touched many lives and will remain in many memories for years to come! - Posted by: Jason Johnson (Co-Worker) on: Feb 09, 2016

  • Rick was truly the biggest fan at the races. He always took time to come over and talk to me whether it be in the stands or in the pits. He was always interested in how my husband did, or my boys did, when racing in the USA. Ricks passing has left a huge hole in the racing community.. RIP Rick. - Posted by: kim wall (friend) on: Feb 08, 2016

  • Our deepest sympathies to Wendy, Jamie, Linda, Neil and families. Ricky, Neil and I grew up together regularly visiting with our families on special occasions at each others houses. It was always a big deal for me and if you knew those boys you'd know why! It was just non-stop playing! As people do, we grew apart but years later, there was Rick as a fellow MTS employee, and we'd re-hash old times every chance we got. The Jets game was always where you'd find Neil, and we too talked many times there, sometimes from the catwalk! Rick had an opinion on every subject under the sun, and made every point so interesting and fun! He was extremely intelligent and witty and we'll sure miss him a lot. - Posted by: Dave Coffell ('cousin') on: Feb 08, 2016

  • Having met Rick at thw race track it's fitting that it was the last place that I saw him.... although I've only ever saw Rick at the track, I'm proud to think of him as a friend! One who always made time to come and see me and talk me up! Well my friend it with a heavy heart that I say you have made me your fan! • I knew Richard as a long-time acquaintance and neighbour in East Kildonan. I was saddened to read that he passed away suddenly last week. Richard was always very friendly and certainly possessed a knack for conversation on many topics. I also knew Richard when he worked at mTs, as I did. He was a diligent worker who was well liked and enjoyed engaging others in conversation. Richard will be missed by the many people who knew him. My sincere condolences to his wife Wendy, his son, Jamie as well as to other members of his family. May God Bless - Posted by: Keith Hall (mTs friend and neighbour) on: Feb 06, 2016

  • I knew you Richard for a very short period of time. Being that we worked together. You never came in without a smile on your face and knew just the little joke to tell to cheer someone up. A strong selfless soul you are and even though I did not know you as a friend I can sincerely say you have made an impact on not just me but many others who may have only known you for a short period. From me and anyone that would of liked to express gratitude but can't. We wish you so much better in the afterlife and give our deepest sympathies to those who will see you in time. - Posted by: Simon (Coworker) on: Feb 06, 2016

Whether passing by your house while you were outside looking after the yard or passing you on the street or local grocery store, you always had time to say hello and smile. The neighbourhood has one less good person in it now. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Todd Thompson (neighbour) on: Feb 06, 2016
