SCOTT RYAN TAYLOR It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of Scott Taylor, at the age of 38, on February 1, 2016. Scott was born in Winnipeg on October 1, 1977 and lived his entire life in Charleswood, first in the family home on Robindale Road and then in his home on Elmhurst Road. He was very proud to have acquired his own house prior to his dad invoking the "quarter century rule" and he worked very hard to create a beautiful yard and garden. Growing up, Scott was involved in many sports. Hockey was his first passion, starting at age four and continuing into adult rec hockey. We can still see the big smile on his face the year he was named the captain of his team. He also played baseball and became a very accomplished skier. Scott enjoyed running and entered many road races with his dad, including the Manitoba Marathon. There also was a time when he participated in triathlons. Swimming in the family pool and BMXing through the old tracks of Charleswood were also favourite activities. Scott graduated from St. Paul's High (1995) and then the University of Manitoba with a B.A. majoring in Economics (2001). Scott had a varied career in business with his final position being with General Electric Transportation managing locomotive maintenance services at CP Rail. But his dream job was working part-time for many years at Shelmerdine Garden and Nursery. He loved working with plants and flowers (a love he shared with his mom) and he became an expert in all things green. He was very handy when it came to landscaping design, cutting down trees in our yard or cultivating a new garden. Scott loved his daughter Addi very much and we are heartbroken he will not be there to see her grow up. Scott was predeceased by his grandparents. He leaves behind his daughter Addison Taylor-Cram (mother Deanne Cram), his parents Bev and Neil, brother Jeff and his wife Michelle, and Scott's nieces Jenna and Tessa. He will also be mourned by his aunts, uncles and cousins. Scott is also leaving behind his furry family, Keiko, Leo and Lion, all of whom were rescue animals. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 9Z9, or to a charity of one's choice. On Saturday, February 13, 2016 Scott's funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg. Rest in peace our dear son. • I met Scott just over 12 years ago. I think it's fair to say that we became fast friends. Scott had a very dynamic personality and was so much fun to be around. I remember the first time we met I heard all about his garden at home which then evidently turned into a guided tour. It was very clear to see that he had a huge passion for nature and all of it small masterpieces. It is with great sadness and regret to hear of his passing. My heart aches for all his loved ones he left behind. I'm so sorry for your loss. He was always a great friend to me and I will miss him. - Posted by: Sheila Robertson Goddard (Friend) on: Feb 10, 2016
