MARY CLARA MIDDLETON (nee BEMISTER) 1929 - 2016 The family announces the passing of their beloved mother and grandmother, Mary Middleton, at the Beausejour Hospital on Monday, February 1, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her loving husband Bill Middleton of 46 years in 2011, as well as her sister Norma, brother Jack and twin brother Buster. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Richard (Monica), Andrew (Grace) and Evan (Leanne), and her eight grandchildren Dillon, Shayne, William, Tristan, Ashlyn, Liam, Clara and Alayna. Mary was born in Winnipeg on January 7, 1929. As a girl she attended St. Mary's Academy. To help support her parents she worked at a number of administrative jobs where she met many lifelong friends. In 1965 she married Bill and together they made a wonderful life in Beausejour. Several years later, Mary's parents moved to Beausejour where she continued to provide care to them. She provided love and support to her family in all their endeavours and especially encouraged their education. Mary was an active member of St. Paul's United Church and put her efforts towards many community initiatives. She also enjoyed living at Burgoyne Station and being part of the wonderful community there. She continued to make new friends throughout her life due to her outgoing and friendly nature. As her health declined, her regular phone calls to Nell and Sheila and the Wednesday Bingo with the girls from Burgoyne kept her spirits high and her will strong. Bill and Mary enjoyed traveling to destinations around the globe including trips to Australia, Florida, Europe, and the Caribbean. After Bill passed, Mary continued to travel and recently she enjoyed a vacation in Phoenix with her entire family. Mom wanted to be remembered as a kind and caring person. A good wife and mother. She was much more than that to all who knew her. Reluctant to say a cross word about anyone, she always looked for the positive in every person and every situation. Her kind words and sage advice were appreciated by friends and family alike. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at the Beausejour Hospital, Drs. Garth Campbell and Daphne Schmidt, Melanie Bernas and the other staff of the Palliative Care Team. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 8 at 11:00 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue E., Beausejour, MB with interment to follow in the Beausejour Cemetery.
