GERALD (JERRY) WILLIAM POPP Peacefully on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at the age of 76 years, Jerry passed away at his residence in East Selkirk, MB with family by his side. He is survived by his loving wife Diane, of 53 years; daughters, Corinne (Ryan), and Debra (Richard); grandchildren, Brittany (Eddie), Brayden, Marina (Nick), and Kyle; sister Elaine, and mother-in-law Mary Lefteruk. He was predeceased by parents William and Sophie Popp (nee Panasky), and father-in-law John Lefteruk. Jerry grew up in Oak Hammock, MB on the family farm. He went on to have a career with CP Rail, retiring in 2000. In his early years he enjoyed curling, fishing and camping. Jerry enjoyed his country living and loved to plant the garden each spring. An avid sports fan he was for sure. He continually amazed us all with his incredible memory for anything sport related as well as names, dates and facts of various topics. He would read the paper daily from front to back. The family wishes to thank Selkirk Palliative Care nurses and caregivers. A special thank you to Dr. Permatilake for his care and compassion. In accordance with Jerry's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering in his memory is planned.
