Dad is survived by his daughter Sandra (Carl), sons Melvin and Warren, a sister Alyce, and a sister-in-law Beatrice. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Brian, Melanie (Jody) and Kyle (Denise), and six great-grandchildren, Logan, Jordyn, Liam, Leah, Jase and Jody Leo. He was predeceased by our mom, Agnes, son-in-law Leonard, brothers Willie, Martin, and Norman, sisters Ialo, and Lillian, nephews Brian, and Gary, and great-nephew Dean. Dad grew up in Foley, and later on in Framnes. He also served in the Army. On June 6, 1948 he married our mom. Dad continued to farm which he enjoyed. Even after retirement he went to work at the Einarson farm right across the road in which he enjoyed. In 1986 Mom and Dad sold the farm and eventually moved into the Sunrise Lodge in 1990. On January 3, 2015 Dad moved into the Assisted Living. Dad loved visits from everyone, especially his grandchildren and later on his great-grandchildren. Dad really enjoyed a good card game of cribbage and whist. He also enjoyed a very good hockey game. In his later years he enjoyed calling Bingo and playing it. A huge thank you to all the staff and homecare workers at the Assisted Living for all you did for dad. Thank you to Dr. Donnelly and all the staff at the Arborg District Hospital. In accordance with Dad's wishes cremation has taken place. The funeral service is on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ardal-Geysir Lutheran Church, 301 River Road.
