Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • I met Don through the MUUG meetings as well. He was a frequent member and always had some interesting points to contribute to our discussions. We will miss his presence in the group. When I was just getting involved with the group and didn't know him at all, he was kind enough to take the time to sit down and discuss some career planning questions I had. - Posted by: Katherine Scrupa (MUUG member) on: Mar 30, 2016

  • My sympathies to Don's loved ones. Don and I (and a few more of us) became buddies over the last few years at our computer club. His mirth and joviality mixed with his offbeat outlook and ideas made for wonderful conversations I very much enjoyed. Truly a unique guy, taken too soon. He will be missed. - Posted by: Trevor Cordes (Computer club buddy) on: Mar 24, 2016

  • I met Don in my intro to calculus class at the u of m in September. In January, we also ended up in the same calc II section. He, myself and a few others would frequently talk after class. Sometimes it was just a few minutes, but sometimes we'd talk for over an hour. He was very helpful and really looked out for us. When there was an issue with a TA, he told the prof so it could be sorted out. He was a really great person and I wish we all could have gotten to know him better. To his family and friends, I'm sorry for your loss. I wish I could have attended the memorial, but I didn't hear the news until afterwards. He will be missed. - Posted by: Fern "Eliza" Haraldson (classmate and friend) on: Feb 24, 2016

  • My deepest sympathy Marlaine and Stevens family. I just heard and my heart hurts for you. I will miss seeing Don out for a walk. Deb Harvey - Posted by: Debra Harvey (Friend) on: Feb 15, 2016

  • I'm so very sorry for your loss. Although we did not know each other very long, he was a very good friend to me. The black sheep of the class, as he very much like to call our little rag tag group of students, will miss his presence very much. My thoughts are with you during this time, Milène - Posted by: Milène Wiebe (Friend and Classmate) on: Feb 12, 2016

  • Our thoughts and prayers are with you, marlaine, at this very tragic and sad time. What a shock for you, we can't imagine losing the love of your life. Take care Wendy and Ken - Posted by: Wendy and Ken broadfoot (Friend) on: Feb 12, 2016
