Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANCES ROBINA CATHERINE BALLINGALL (MACIVER) Frances has passed into the arms of her loving God to be reunited with her eternal love, Jimmie. Born January 22, 1928 to Alexander John and Agnes MacIver in Winnipeg, MB. Passed away January 24, 2016 in North Vancouver, BC. Frances was predeceased by her husband Jimmie, her sisters Margaret and Diane, her brothers Jack and Bruce, her daughter-in-law Diane, and her granddaughter Melissa Jane. Frances is survived by her six sons: Brian (Sally), Bruce (Donna), Brent (Cathy), Jim (Shauna), Tom (Brenda), and Michael (Diana); her 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A Wife, a Mother, a Grandmother, a Great-Grandmother, an Aunt, and a Friend to so many. Every life touched by her was enriched by the experience. Mom was a great hostess and loved playing piano at the many parties held in our basement rec rooms. Our mom spent her entire life being a "hands on" mother to her six boys. Our mom was a mother who was always there for us, guiding her sons with something between an iron fist and kid gloves. One of mom's favourite tactics was to say something like "let your conscience be your guide" or "to thyne own self be true" as a son was leaving the house for the evening, all our lives we knew we could always go home and Mom would be there. Our family moved a lot. Mom and Dad lived in Winnipeg, Fort Frances, Winnipeg, West Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Calgary, and finally Tsawassen. Mom was the lead on all of our moves and did an amazing job guiding her sons through the adjustments and the challenges of relocations. Everywhere Mom left many friends at church groups and volunteer organizations she had joined. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the amazing staff of Lynn Valley Care Centre, Dr. Paul Sugar and the staff at Amica Park Royal who all made Mom's transition more comfortable. A celebration of Mom's life will be held Saturday, April 23 at Tsawwassen Springs Golf Course Event Centre, 5133 Springs Blvd., Tsawwassen, BC from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to The Alzheimer Society or Jane's Fund. My mother and yours were good friends here in Wpg and your dad and mine worked for Robin Hood and were good friends for so many years. All are gone far too soon for any of us. I have sincerely fond memories of both as we visited in their home in B.C. - Posted by: Maureen Gunness Hardy (Daughter of Maurice and Isobel Gunness) on: Feb 19, 2016

Auntie Frank was an amazing mother, aunt and sister and a friend to many. She was one of my favourite aunts. She was loving, kind, disciplined, a great story teller and just an all around great person. She will be missed by many but her legacy lives on in her treasured six boys, daughter-in-laws and grand children. Have a drink with Mary Frankie! I am sure she welcomed you with open arms.
