TRACY DEE JAKOBSON September 13, 1958 - February 9, 2016 If heaven didn't have Pizza Friday before...it most certainly does now. The afternoon of February 9, Tracy Dee Jakobson soared to the skies and she brought something terribly contagious along: her smile and laughter. She leaves behind her husband Karl - the one and only love of her life; her loving children, Arni (Cheryl), Elly (Jason) and Willie (Connie); her parents, Willie and Donna-Mae Arnason; her sisters, Christy (Donny) and Jodi (Mike); her three beautiful grandchildren, Soren, Kamryn and Signy, along with her brothers and sisters-in-law, and too many nieces and nephews to count. She was predeceased by her brother Brad (Christine), and sister Jill (Dave). Mom was a vibrant soul who was filled to the brim with adventure and had an immense love for life. She was an amazing wife, daughter, sister and mother; it was clear that these were her primary focuses in life. She continued to put everyone ahead of herself - even in her last days - to be sure everyone was taken care of. In 1980, she met her husband Karl at the Old-Timer's Dance on August long weekend, where he spun her around the dance floor for the very first time. We would drive home some nights and catch them in each other's arms through the window. Even in their late 50s, the dancing never ceased. Making sure us kids had a good life showed what kind of a mother she was. As both a disciplinarian and the most fun, caring Mama - we had exactly what we needed. One of our greatest memories is waiting for her freshly baked bread to come out of the oven and slathering it with butter before eating slice after slice. We would like to thank our Aunty Irene for helping our mom in her final days. We would also like to thank all of her friends, family and all of our friends - who were like children to her - for filling her life with so much love. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba in her name. At Mom's request, no formal service will be held for her. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com

  • To all the Family, my thoughts are with you at this time. I just want you to know I will always, have the best things to remember about "auntie Tracy". Whether it was dancing in the living room listening to IL DIVO and talking about how good looking they are, or all the times she made Taylor and I do her hair on the deck at the cabin. Going swimming off the dock at her house or boating in the lagoon. She always made me feel welcomed and loved. It goes without saying that she was an amazing women with a big beautiful family. She will be truly missed by so many people. Hugs to everyone. - Posted by: Margaux Booz () on: Feb 17, 2016

  • We extend our sincere sympathy to Tracy's family and friends. May she rest in peace. To Tracy's children I can empathize with losing your mother. As time passes may it help you to remember that ,you are a part of her and that she will always be as close as your heart. There is a legend I've heard that may comfort you in the future that says something like; when you look up into the night sky and see the bright twinkling stars may you think of them as your loved one smiling down apon you. - Posted by: Janice & Lloyd Tokle (Siglavik neighbours) on: Feb 14, 2016

  • I grew up with Tracy along with all the Arnason's and I have so many great memories of Tracy. She was always the 'big' sister and I can see her pointing her finger at Christy & giving us heck over some silly thing we had done but would stay up late that night listening us talk & join us in a giggle into the wee hours. Tracy was a Great Big Sister to me, her own & many others in our neighbourhood that she threw her heart open to. Thanks for all the smiles Tracy. The world is a sadder place without you. xo - Posted by: Kathy Wood (Friend) on: Feb 14, 2016
