Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVELINE BERUBE (nee DESAUTELS) Peacefully, on Sunday February 7, 2016, Eveline passed away at Actionmarguerite-Foyer Valade at the age of 85 years. Eveline was born on January 19, 1931 in Ste. Anne, Manitoba, where she has several fond memories of growing up as a child and spending many hours with her brothers and sisters. During her adult life, she was very dedicated to helping her students learn. In her many years as a teacher, she worked in a few school divisions, but spent most of her years in the St. Boniface School Division She was especially proud of the fact that along with a couple of her colleagues they were the pioneers of the French Immersion program in Manitoba. Eveline loved to visit and talk with friends and family. The Festival du Voyageur week was special for her and Guy as they were able to celebrate their Franco-Manitoban heritage and see many friends. She loved her grandchildren, and talked about how important they were to her. She was always excited to talk about their accomplishments. Eveline, was predeceased by her husband of 54 years Guy; she leaves to cherish her two sons, Claude (Christiane) and Hubert (Patti). Also, three sisters Léontine Kenny (Denis), Lucille Gisiger (Luc) and Huguette Simard (André); and two brothers, Raymond (Antoinette) and Alfred. She was predeceased by her father Antoine and mother Annie and sisters, Thérèse, Gertrude, Raymonde; and brothers, Maurice and Edouard. She also leaves to mourn six grandchildren, (Jenna, Stephanie, Evan, Marie-Andrée, Simon and Naomie); and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank all the staff of Actionmarguerite-Foyer Valade, for their great comfort and care that they offered mom during her time in the residence. A celebration in Eveline's memory will be held at Saints-Martyrs-Canadiens, 289 Dussault Avenue on Wednesday February 17 at 10:30 a.m. There will be a reception following the service at the church. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Eveline's memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or Actionmarguerite Foundation.
