MARY GEORGINA STEVENS March 25, 1919 - February 10, 2016 Peacefully at Fred Douglas Lodge in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the age of 96 years. Georgina was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Nicholas Stevens; her brothers, Jim and George Stevens and her sister Irene Lindsay. She leaves behind eight nieces and nephews, Milt, Leslie, Brad and Tim Stevens, Linda Hill, Roberta Tucker, Donna Marsh, Lori Guertin and their families. Georgina was employed by Air Canada, retiring in 1984. She was a feisty, independent woman who lived a long and full life with many interests: gardening, curling, bowling, Tai Chi, Stradbrook Seniors Choir, Weston/Brooklands Seniors Clubs, Air Canada Pionairs (retirees), and long-time member of Sparling United Church. She enjoyed summers at her cabin at Laclu, Ontario and will be remembered as the family photographer, capturing special times on film or video. Many thanks to the caring Staff of Evergreen Unit at Fred Douglas Lodge where Georgina lived these last two years. Cremation has taken place and a service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date. In her memory, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or to Sparling United Church, 1492 Burrows Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba R2X 0S8.
