DELIA OLSEN It is with sadness in our hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Delia Olsen who passed away February 13, 2016 at the Health Sciences Centre Hospital. She will be missed by husband Raymond, son Kenny, son Brian, daughter Carol, and grandson Lee whom she raised and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and their spouses. She was predeceased by son Vern in 1986 and daughter Sheila in 2015. Delia was born in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba on July 25, 1931. She had four brothers and two sisters all are predeceased except brother Roy. Delia and Raymond had been married for 65 years. She worked at Tan Jay most of her life and after retirement she cleaned homes part time. Delia loved playing bingo and meeting up her many bingo friends. She also loved the birthday luncheon get togethers with her friends. Delia loved her grandchildren and enjoyed shopping for presents for the little ones at Christmas time. She loved dogs and cats and donated money to the Winnipeg Humane Society yearly. In her early years she and dad built two cabins in St. Ambroise, Manitoba where they spent most of their spare time with many relatives, family and friends. Delia had overcome many health issues over the last three years, but she always had a positive outlook and a big smile. A thank you to the caring staff at HSC in GA3 ward. A few who called her momma and made sure she always had her stuffed toy cat tucked under her arm for comfort. We will miss the daily calls, joyous smile, wisdom and her caring spirit. Service will be held at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery) on Monday, February 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations could be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3T 9Z9. My prayers are to the whole family. Mom as I called her was always doing things to make me smile. And boy was she a good cook. I have many fond memories especially at the cabin. She treated me equal in the family, even giving heck when I needed it. - Posted by: Darlene Skimming (nee Spray) (Past friend of the family) on: Feb 21, 2016
