Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOREEN (DO) FRANCES BROWN Doreen (Do) Frances Brown passed away suddenly at home on February 12, 2016. She leaves to mourn her husband of 48 years Don; daughter Tricia (Scott); son Steven; sister Barbara (Rico); brothers George (Lisa) and Alan. Doreen was predeceased by her parents Margery and Ellis Derbyshire. Doreen was born in Coleman, Alberta and moved to Winnipeg while still young, graduated from St. James Collegiate and met her husband Don in 1966 and they got married in 1967. Doreen got a chance to see much of the world following Don around for his military career for 35 years. She thoroughly enjoyed living in Germany for eight years and getting a chance to tour most of Europe on vacations. Doreen loved to work in the garden and looking after her flowers. Doreen loved to knit and sew. She knitted sweaters for her sister and afghan's to give away. Doreen was also an active volunteer with Figure Skating as a Data Specialist and with the Christmas Cheer Board. One of her favorite past times were her road trips with Tricia to visit relatives and friends. She especially enjoyed her two dogs Max and Ebony who followed her everywhere. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the Paramedics and the emergency room staff at Concordia Hospital for their outstanding compassion and care provided. Cremation has taken place and a reception will be held on Saturday, February 20 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Flowers are gratefully declined.
