Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARTHA DANYLCHUK (nee DELORME) February 5, 1930 - February 17, 2016 It is with greatest sadness our family announces the passing of Martha Danylchuk at Bethesda Hospital, Steinbach, MB, with her family by her side. She is survived by her son Lawrence (Monique), daughter Linda (David), and grandchildren: Derek (Jordan), Craig (Kristi), Nicholas, Nathan (Emily), great-grandchild Jessica along with numerous other family members. Martha was predeceased by her parents: Joseph and Elmire Delorme, and her loving husband Walter of 51 years, her siblings: Adelard, Jean, Archie, Joseph, Origene, Georgina and Phillip. Martha was born in Ste. Marthe, Saskatchewan and spent her early years working on the farm with her siblings. At the age of six her family moved to Marchand to begin a new life in Manitoba. Mom attended school in Marchand while helping on the farm and later meeting the love of her life, Walter. Mom and dad began dating and in 1951 they were married. Mom followed dad as he worked in Manitoba and Northern Ontario as a Section-man for CN. Dad later secured a permanent section in Woodridge and then bought their first home in Sandilands. In 1958 their first child was born, Lawrence and in 1959 their daughter Linda arrived. In 1970 the family moved to Marchand, during that time she worked in the garment industry and as a home-care worker. When dad became ill in 2001 they moved to Steinbach where mom remained after his passing. Mom enjoyed life to the fullest, she loved dancing and listening to the Frazer River Boys. She enjoyed attending church, picking berries, canning, baking and was the ultimate hostess and cook to anyone who entered her home. Mom loved the Blue Jays, her flowers and plants, local festivals, the 55 Plus events, socializing with dad, their numerous friends and family members. However, nothing could compare to her love of her grandchildren. Her boys were her world and they knew that. They also loved their grandmother with all their hearts. They will truly miss her dearly. A celebration of Mom's life and viewing will be held prior to the service on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Our Saviour Catholic Parish Steinbach, MB. In the lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba. Arrangements by BIRCHWOOD FUNERAL CHAPEL 1-204-346-1030 OR 1-888-454-1030
