PAT A. ROSE Peacefully on February 21, 2016, Pat A. Rose (nee Mackie) passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 86, after battling cancer on her own terms. Pat was predeceased by her beloved husband Bob, and will be sadly missed by her sister Ruth; her children Sandie (Dan Robinson), Terri (Byron Purchase) and Rob (Joan); her grandchildren Corrie (Jason Harris), David and Shelley (Curtis Prystupa), Brian, Jodie and Megan, Stephen and Richard; and her great-grandchildren, Michael, Danny and Jayda, David and Kaylie. Pat was born February 6, 1930 and resided in Winnipeg all of her life. She married Bob on June 14, 1952 and thereafter embraced her true calling as a homemaker and mother to her expanding brood of kids, and ultimately grand and great-grandkids. Pat was a talented and creative crafter, knitter and seamstress. She created beautiful ceramics and, later in life, mastered the art of bonsai. She loved being the head cheerleader and supporter at her family's unending schedule of sporting events, concerts and activities. Traveling with loved ones provided many adventures and warm memories. Her love of animals was well known. We will cherish the memories of Pat's devoted love, zest for life and unmatched strength of character. We extend our special thanks to all of her support groups including the fantastic staff and residents at the Kiwanis Courts, the amazing team at Palliative Care, the angelic nurses on the 8th floor of the St. Boniface Hospital and her caring network of physicians, in particular Dr. Penina Krongold, a wonderful professional and an even better person. A celebration of Pat's life will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. Should friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 1000-191 Lombard Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3B 0X1, Special Olympics Manitoba, 304-145 Pacific Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3B 2Z6, or a charity of your choice.
