ANTONIO (TONY) GODIN We sadly announce the peaceful passing of Tony Godin on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at St. Boniface Hospital. Tony was born on August 16, 1924 in St. Eustache, Manitoba. Tony worked for Winnipeg Transit, first driving street cars, then buses and finally in the ticket office on Fort Street. He then transferred to the St. Boniface City Hall where he retired at the age of 60. He and Gertrude lived in the Norwood area for 54 years. Tony was an avid gardener and family man who took pride in all he achieved. He is survived by his wife Gertrude, his sons Ron (Nancy) and Allan, daughters Monique (Torsten) and Michele; five grandchildren, Ryan, Nicole (Steve), Christian, Chantelle and Kyle; and two great-grandchildren Janelle and Brooklyn. He is also survived by one brother Albé (Marie). Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. from the Precieux-Sang Roman Catholic Church, 200 Kenny St., Winnipeg. Interment to follow at the St. Boniface Cemetery on Archibald. Special thanks to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital, 4B Family Medicine and 6A Transitional Care for their care and compassion. Dear Mrs. Godin, Monique, Michele, Ron, Allan and family. My sincere condolences to you on the loss of your dear father. He was a joy to deal with while preparing my income tax returns over the years. He'd always have time to chat and have a few laughs. He'll be missed.
