I lived next to Claudia and her family on Manitoba Avenue in Winnipeg many, many years ago. I just became of her passing via the internet. I still have memories and a picture or two of her holding me at about four years old in front of her house. I remained a neighbour with her brother Ed until his passing. I have one picture of her and am looking for the other one of her holding me in front of her yard. I would appreciate any relatives reading this to contact me at: wjlelectric@shaw.ca (204) 9818026 Wayne Ledwos Rest in peace Claudia - Posted by: Wayne Ledwos (Neighbour on Manitoba Avenue) on: May 09, 2022

Dear Mike, Derrick, Michelle, Jonathan and Families, We were so sorry to hear of Claudia's passing. Having been neighbours at the beach since 1956 we all felt like "famiy", working together and watching as all the kids grew up. We have missed your family lots since you sold the cottage. One of my favorite "Claudia" stories was from long ago when she and Eddie were in their teens. They had taken their dad's car into town and on the way home Claudia had driven into the ditch. They were afraid to tell Nick so they came to our cottage and tapped on the door to see if my dad would help them get the car out. Of course he got up and went and helped them get the car out of the ditch and safely home without your Grandpa knowing. Good neighbours will do that for you and I think my dad always enjoyed their little secret. We know that you will have many memories of happy times you shared with your Mom and hope that these memories will bring you comfort at this sad time. We are sorry that we will not be able to attend her service but hope you know that we have kept you in our thoughts and prayers since we heard the sad news. Take care. We knew Claudia many years ago when all of us were still single and and dating our hubbies. When there would be a function at Rossdale hall we would spend the evening together. We are so sorry to hear of her passing, she was very friendly and outgoing. Our sympathy goes out to Michael and the family.RIP Claudia - Posted by: Dennis & Fran Danko (distant family) on: Mar 01, 2016

I had the pleasure of being Claudia's student. She was a wonderful teacher and encouraged us at all times. No one was treated differently. My father went on to be a Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus and knew Mike very well. Then as the years passed, my husband in 2011 had the amazing fortune to work with John their son. To this day Ray always talks about how great John is. Our deepest condolences to the entire family. Teresa and Ray Macumber - Posted by: Teresa and Raymond Macumber (Friend) on: Feb 29, 2016

I have many fond memories of Claudia in their country home in Cloverdale. We had a lot in common, since we were both teachers. She shared may good points and ideas. Her meals and packed lunches were delicious. When I first met Claudia many years ago, I wanted to look like her. She was so pretty and well dressed! I tried to follow her example daily as a teacher. I will always remember her kindness and will miss her. My condolences to Michael and the whole family. Sorry I could not attend the funeral, because I had extensive surgery on my foot which is in a cast, and cannot step on it for another two weeks.
