Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDNA JEAN WITTIG February 23, 1925 - February 26, 2016 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edna Jean Wittig. Jean was born to the late Margaret and Cyril McLeod, and raised in Winnipeg. She met her husband Tom while he was in the RCAF, billeted in Winnipeg. They married in Kitchener in 1948. After Tom's graduation, they moved to Winnipeg, raising their family in Norwood. Jean was predeceased by her husband Tom; her oldest son Gary; sister Winsome Gobert; brothers-in-law Bert Gobert, Ed Bailey; and sister Elizabeth in infancy. Jean is survived by children, Anne (Ron) Toews, Catherine, Tom (Carol Jackson), Joe (Filomena Alquino), Jim (Lori), Margaret (Dan) Pugh, Rob (Darcey), Rick; grandchildren, Jen (Gord) Veri, Karen (Mike) Therrien, Chris Wittig, Laura (Dustin Enns) Wittig, Kevin Wittig, Karra (Matt) Ketola, Mark Pugh; great-grandchildren, Mya, Greta and Tess Veri, Myles and Violet Therrien. She is also survived by her sister Doreen Bailey, and many nieces and nephews. A private service will be held for Jean. Thank you to the caring staff at Victoria General Hospital for the care Mom received during her final days, as well as the staff and friends at Dakota House especially the ladies at table 12- the fun table. Also, thank you to the home care staff for their attentive care. Mom you will be missed. Best. Mom. Ever.
