DONALD FREDERICK PORTH The family of Donald Frederick Porth announce his passing on February 29, 2016 at age 81. Don is survived by his wife Janet. He was educated in Winnipeg and obtained a MSW Degree from the U of M. Don will be remembered for his embrace of art, music, sports, and gardening. He would often combine his love of nature into one of a kind works of art reflecting his quirky and unusual sense of humour. He will also be missed for his sweet gentle nature and devilish pranks. A celebration of life will occur this summer, details to follow. In lieu of flowers donations to the Cancer Society are welcome.   • I believe Don Porth attended United College (U of Wpg) where we became friends as fellow students and shared the experience of venturing to Alberta the summer of 1956 to work in the oil fields: fond memories. I lost touch with Don after 1960 when I moved East. I clearly recall Don as a really nice person.   • Janet, We were so saddened to hear of Don's passing. We were away at the time and just got back to hear the sad news. I know that he had been quite ill and debilitated for some time now and I can only hope that there is some consolation in knowing he is now set free.
