LORRAINE BROUGHTON Peacefully at Riverview Health Centre on February 27, 2016. Mom was predeceased by her husband Bob in 2003; sisters, Millie, Bert, Dot and great-grandson Kingston. Mom is survived by her children, Shelly (David) Harding, Allan, Joanne (Jeff) and Marlene; grandchildren, Patrick (Alyssa), Alina, Robert (Jackie), Sadie, Ryan, Jake, Michal, Paul (Laura), Jasmine, Dylan; great-grandchildren, Dustin, Ivy, Gabriel, Ariel, Avery, and Sophera. Lorraine is lovingly remembered by her sister Donna; longtime friends, Barb Davies, Jean Dueck, Georgie Towns and many other friends and relatives. Mom was born July 18, 1930 in Deloraine. She grew up in many rural communities marrying dad in 1951 in Boissevain. Moving to Souris, Morden and settling in Winnipeg in 1971. Mom enjoyed all her years at Woolco and cherished the lifelong friendships she made throughout the store. Mom's passions were reading, the Free Press puzzles, knitting, exploring new recipes and her elephant collection. She enjoyed watching sports especially curling and was an avid Blue Jays fan. Time spent with her sisters and their families was always a grand event with so many memories made. We will remember Mom for her strength and all the love for her family. She was an amazing mother and grandmother spending endless time with her grandchildren. Always having a room full of toys, movies, bubbles and a freezer full of cookies. Our family would like to thank Riverview CD1 for all the love and tender care they gave Mom. She loved all the light hearted humour with all of the staff. Mom couldn't have lived at a better place. Respecting mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. If friends wish, donations may be made to Parkinson Canada, 7-414 Westmount Drive, Winnipeg, MB, R2J 1P2. We all have our own special memories of Mom. Even though you have begun a new journey, you will live in our hearts forever. XOXO Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 204-885-9715

  • So sorry to hear of Lorraine's passing. We have lost touched over the last few years but I have often wondered how she was doing. Another one of the Innes connections gone. - Posted by: Marilyn Crooks (McEachern) (Cousin) on: Mar 05, 2016
