Helen and Ted were married on a beautiful fall day on September 26, 1953 and made their home in Melrose. She had many hobbies, including gardening, sewing, knitting, ceramics and was active with St. Michael's Ladies Auxiliary lending a hand when the need arose. She was an excellent cook, baker, and canner, keeping her family well fed. After Ted's retirement they enjoyed travelling with her brother and sister in law to Mexico, Dominican Republic and to the United States for casino trips and sight seeing through the Black Hills in South Dakota. Mom resided at Kin Place Personal Care Home for the past five years. We would like to thank the wonderful health care and recreation staff for their excellent care and concern. You were all a part of her family. I will always remember the many Saturdays spent at Aunt Helen and Uncle Teddy's farm. We always enjoyed a lot of fun with our cousins, sometimes worked during harvest, picked fresh vegetables from their great big garden and always enjoyed Aunt Helen's great cooking! Great memories from a time long ago. Andy - Posted by: Andy Drobot (Nephew) on: Mar 09, 2016

I will always remember Aunt Helen as my favorite aunt, for one thing because she lived in the closest proximity to our house (just a mile or so down the road), but also that she was always cheerful and smiling (well, with the odd exception when we kids got into mischief). I recall her laugh...in fact I can almost bring it back to me now, as I think about it. She was kind, loving and the best aunt any `kid`could want, She will be missed.
