GLORIA MCLEOD It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Gloria McLeod (nee Gledhill), at 81 years of age. With family by her side, Gloria passed away at St. Boniface Hospital on March 6, 2016. She was predeceased by the love of her life, Kenneth McLeod. Gloria was lucky to be surrounded by a large family. She is survived by her children Allan (Wendy), Richard (Brenda), Leslie, Cheryl (Mike), and Sandra; grandchildren Jason, Chrissy (Adam), Blair, Josh, Jennifer (Wes), Michelle (Mike), Kaitlyn, Stephanie, Kayla, Meagan, Brandon, Connor; and great-grandchildren Kelton, Nicholas, Brookelyn, Jaxon, Sylus, Annalilja and Paityn. She will also be missed by her siblings Joseph (Marilyn), Marjorie, Elsie, Dorothy, and Sylvia; sisters-in-law Mabel and Lauraine; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Born November 9, 1934 in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Gloria moved to Winnipeg in 1955. After marrying Kenneth in 1956, they began to build their family. Gloria loved her family and music, and always missed the Atlantic Ocean. In lieu of flowers, please donate to The Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, in memory of Kenneth McLeod; or ChildFind in memory of Joe Gledhill Jr. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Kelton and I were very sad to hear of Gloria's passing. We allow ourselves to become too busy and always think there will be time in the future to make the effort to call or visit. This is a somber reminder that maintaining relationships needs to be made a priority. Gloria always made me feel like family and I have nothing but warm memories of the family get-togethers and Imperial Cookies at Christmas. My condolences to your whole family. Your mom was like a second mom to me. I remember growing up and always being at your house. I always felt welcome and enjoyed going to visit your relatives in Lundar. Now your mom is with your dad and probably visiting with my parents.
