EDWIN GEORGE WILSON On March 8, 2016, our beloved Ed, of Winnipeg Beach, MB, left us after a long and valiant fight to stay. Ed is survived by his wife of 31 years, Valarie; son Cody (Ashleigh) and grandson Conner who was the light of his life. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Eleanor and brother and sister-in-law Cal and Glenice of British Columbia. Ed was predeceased by his mother and father Leslie and Georgina Wilson and he missed them dearly. Ed was born in Winnipeg and was a gifted artist. He worked all his life in the art industry and loved to paint and make music. He received his art training at Tech Voc High School and the University of Manitoba. He trained under Phillip Guttkin and Associates and Brigdons of Winnipeg. Ed had a gentleness of spirit that humbled us all and made us want to be better people. Thank you to Dr. Rhoma for his care and compassion during Ed's illness. A celebration of Ed's life will take place at a later date just as he wanted. He will be missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to have known him. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Many years ago we bought a lot at Belair. We were clearing it and staying in our tent trailer. Friends of ours introduced us to Ed and Val who immediately came over to lend us a helping hand . Ed you were a wonderful, kind, considerate friend. We all had some wonderful times together. Then we all went our own ways, some of us sold our places at the lake and we lost touch of each other. I am so sorry to hear of your loss Val and Cody. My prayers and thoughts are with you. RIP, Ed. I know there is a special place for you in Heaven. You were a good man. Sincere condolences, Val and Cody. Paulette Morrison and Meghann Leray - Posted by: Paulette Morrison (friend from Belair) on: Mar 12, 2016
