Emily was an inspiration to everyone she met, she had that persona of the kind of energy you could gravitate to. She always had a way of making you feel you were the only one that mattered at that specific time. She was a kind-hearted woman, who dotted on her children and grandchildren. She loved the company of her family and friends and sharing stories and a laugh. She loved reading about the paranormal mysteries and give us her review. She loved journaling, and you could find her notes scattered about her house. She loved sewing, crocheting, playing bingo and once in a while a good game of slots. She talked about her time growing up in Sagkeeng, how poverty affected her life, but made her strong. She made her peace as a residential school survivor and kept her faith as a strong Catholic believer and also the traditions of her people, the Annishinaabe. She was proud to be known as "Screaming Eagle" of the Mikinak Clan. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 12 at 11:30 p.m. in the Fort Alexander Roman Catholic Church. Condolences & Memories (10 entries)

  • I miss you so much already, my Mama... I just got home from classes and heard your message on the answering machine. I felt your comfort around me right away. I can handle it much easier Mom if it was not the circumstances, but like you said in one of our last conversations, "tomorrow is not promised to anyone". I know you would forgive the person who took your life and I must do the same. You were going to come with us for Baby Jackson memorial, now you can meet him in heaven. Say Hi to brother Jojo, give Jaxxie's hugs, give Grandpa Joe, and Grans big hugs and kisses. Thank you for sharing your time with my Dad "Wilfred" when you shared with me, he never disrespected or mistreated you, it was a comfort to know, because I know you went through things that were not so nice at times, and yet you kept going. I'm happy you loved Allen as your own son, he will cherish that. Thank you Mom for making me the woman I am, not to let anyone mistreat me, "never start a fight, but make sure you finish it", I understand. Respect all people, but grovel to none.... I love you my sweet Mom... I will see you later... - Posted by: Victoria Elaine McIntosh (oldest daughter) on: Mar 13, 2016
