IRENE LAURA STERNASTEK (nee DeVos) July 17, 1930 - March 8, 2016 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Irene. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Convalescent Home at the age of 85. She was predeceased by her parents Victor and Irma DeVos; husband Joseph; sister Mary; and brothers George, Joe, and Robert. She leaves to mourn her children, Richard, Laura (Ron Takeshita), Mark (Lisa Sim) and Susan (Andy Allard); grandchildren, Kyle, Melissa, Kate, and Sarah; step-grandchildren Christopher and Jessica; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends her and Dad had shared through the years. Mom was devoted to the church and her family. Forever remembered, forever loved, Mom you will forever remain in our hearts and never be forgotten. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 11, 2016, at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish, 85 Kirkbridge Dr., with Father Kevin Bettens presiding. Interment will follow at the St. Norbert Parish cemetery. Viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
