(...continued) JEAN A. BEAUMONT Jean always believed that his contribution to the world of education should exceed his job description. He strove to inspire young teachers and school administrators at Seine River School Division, Fort Garry School Division and Division scolaire franco-manitobaine (as Acting Principal at Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes and through the Manitoba School Improvement Program), and gladly served as mentor to those who shared his passion. He firmly believed in the importance of the school as a place of learning; he believed that the school's first responsibility was to prepare students for the future. He was passionate about education, but his family was always his priority. Jean spent a lot of time at the cottage with his children and his grandchildren, his brothers, sisters and his extended family. The Beaumont cottage was the center of the neighbourhood's social activities, and it was not at all unusual to see Jean there, sitting in the sun, chatting with a neighbour. Over the last 15 years, he also spent time with his new friends in the Dominican Republic, where Jean's welcome was just as warm as it was at the cottage. He had the ability to convince others of the importance of acting in the community's best interest, and of their ability to take action themselves. Our heartfelt thanks go to the staff at the Health Sciences Centre for their support and compassionate care. The funeral service will be held at Saint-Norbert Roman Catholic Church (70 Saint-Pierre St., Saint-Norbert, Manitoba). Eulogy will begin at 1:00 p.m., with mass at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at a later date at the Sainte-Geneviève Cemetery (Sainte-Geneviève, Manitoba).
