DORIS CAROLINE PATALUCK It is with deep sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of our mom, Doris Caroline Pataluck (nee Luy) on Friday, March 4, 2016 at Concordia Hospital, at the age of 86. Doris is survived by her son Dave; and daughter Heather (Paul); sister Fran; sisters-in-law, Helen, Addy, Margie and Bev; as well as all her nieces, nephews, their children and extended family and friends. Doris was predeceased by her husband Joe; sisters, Helen and Jean; brothers, John and Edward, and extended family. Mom was born in Tyndall on December 20, 1929 and lived there until she moved to Winnipeg to work at Eatons as a teenager. After Dave was born, she went back to work part-time at Kresge's in downtown Winnipeg. She then worked at Kmart and after that Zellers for 30 plus years before "quitting" at the age of 78. Mom loved the family gatherings we would have. Whether it be for Christmas or Easter, she always brought the holupchis, meatballs, lemon tarts and sometimes - despite the smell - even homemade head cheese! Mom's health started to decline in 2009, but through her various surgeries and tests etc., she was always a trooper. Mom moved into Irene Baron Eden Centre in 2012. She made many friends and loved going on all the outings. The family would like to thank Dr. Kenneth Kemkaran and Dr. Kenneth Van Ameyde for the wonderful care they gave her these last few years. Annette and Linda and all the staff at Irene Baron - you are unsung heroes and Mom loved you dearly. Flowers are gratefully declined. If you wish, a donation can be made to the animal charity of your choice or any other charity dear to your heart. A Celebration of Life - "Come and Go" gathering will be held at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Highway from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2016.
