Condolences & Memories (29 entries)

  • Our sincere condolences to Pam and family on your loss. We are neighbours on River Avenue in Winnipeg Beach. All that I know and ever heard of Karl were great words. Karl was the most helpful neighbour. Last summer he fixed Roy's lawnmower after I had turned it upside down draining the oil into the gas. He didn't want anything for fixing it so all I could do was give him a couple of railway lanterns for his collection. He had just completed a trailer for his hunting trip the next day. The summer of 2015 he had time to have a beer and tell me about his and Pam's natural salve ingredients picked up North. Karl was a wonderful person and he was taken from our earth too early. May he rest in peace for eternity. - Posted by: Karen & Roy Martin (Neighbours) on: Apr 29, 2016

  • My Sympathy to Pam, Laureen, and Neil, who I have the privilege of saying fall into the category of "friends you consider family." I was lucky to spend my youth growing up with Neil, spending countless days either on Mikinak bay or at Berge lake. Karl was more than just my buddies dad, He was truly a mentor to our group of friends, as we watched him build countless projects, and tinker in the garage. He was always the type of guy you hoped you would be when you grew up; able to fix anything, from carpentry, to auto mechanics, or Trapping and fishing ,always sharing a story or two with us as he shared his knowledge, and amazingly tolerent of the young group of boy's that took every opportunity to watch in awe as he worked on his projects. Thanks for all the lessons Karl, rest in peace - Posted by: Derek Lockhart (Friend) on: Mar 17, 2016

  • Our sincere condolences to Pam, Laureen, Neil and family. Very fond memories of Karl fishing and hunting at Tenklei Lake; Lynn Lake bonspiels; hospitality at Berg; working at Ruttan and of always working / helping on some project or scheme. Karl welcomed me as a immigrant Kiwi, in the late 70’s, to the Canadian way of life, teaching me about the North and making me feel at home. He certainly influenced me in staying and raising a family in Canada - demonstrating all the good things about life and relationships. We were privileged to have known him. Mary Ann and I are thinking of you all during this time of sadness. - Posted by: Peter, Mary Ann, Mike and Matt Doyle (Life long friend) on: Mar 16, 2016

And now with times passage it seems he wasn't really that much older than us young kids. And died too young. Sympathies to Pam and family. - Posted by: Ted Roberts (Lynn Laker) on: Mar 14, 2016
