Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNITA EMILY WHITEHOUSE Peacefully, and with family by her side, our cherished mom, grandma, nana and friend Nita Whitehouse entered into eternal peace on Friday, March 11, 2016 at the age of 94. A service will be held on Thursday, March 17 at 1:00 p.m. at Charleswood United Church, 4820 Roblin Boulevard at Dieppe Road. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Winnipeg Foundation or a charity of your choice. A longer obituary will follow. I got to know Nita when her grand-daughter Laura married our son Casey. She was a wonderful lady, kind, engaging, full of love for her family especially the grand kids. Eleanor has known Nita since 1933 when Nita was a babysitter for her. Nita was a good friend of Eleanor's mother, Eileen Peters and took Eileen to a number of doctor's appointments. When Eleanor married Norman Thomas we used to fly back from Montreal to visit Eileen and also Nita and continued to visit Nita after Eleanor's mother died. Eleanor used to give Nita some of her homemade fudge. We shall miss Nita's friendly smile and hearing all about her family.
