NANCY BRENDA ALLAN May 30, 1942 - March 10, 2016 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy Allan on March 10, 2016, at the age of 73. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Brenda Allan. She is lovingly remembered by her sister Janis Gordon (Jim); nieces, Angela (Robert), Stacey (Colin); and grandnieces, Ella, Leah, Quinn and Aubrey, as well as extended family and close friends. Nancy was a longtime resident of St. James and attended St. Charles Catholic School and during this time Nancy became involved with the Catholic church. Nancy's faith and her church were a major part of her life, and this brought her a true sense of strength and comfort. We were always grateful for that. Nancy will be remembered as someone who faced many challenges with great willpower, determination and courage. In the past, Nancy was very proud of her job delivering for Imperial Optical. In recent years, she volunteered many hours at Stroke Recovery and also at Independent Living Resource Centre, where she received an award for Volunteer of the Year in 2008. For the last several years, Nancy resided at Lions Place and Lions Manor. She enjoyed living there and will be missed by many residents and staff. We love you Nancy, and we have many great memories of our time together. You were an inspiration to us all. There will be a memorial service on Thursday, March 17 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715
