GILLES VANDAL 1939 - 2016 On March 12, 2016, after an intense and short battle with cancer, Gilles Vandal joined his wife Marge and son Perry in the eternal world. Gilles is survived by his son Paul (Christine), daughter Carole (Steve), grandson Brennan, as well as siblings Dolores, Paulette Kornelsen, Norman and Daniel and their families. Sadly he was predeceased by his wife Marge in September, 2010 and five year old son Perry in 1972. The pain of losing Perry forever changed his outlook on life and losing his wife dramatically changed his lifestyle. Recently Gilles also suffered the loss of his loving mother, Dorilda, as well as his brothers Maurice, Philippe and Denis. Gilles loved his family tremendously - each loss affected him profoundly. Although Gilles had a gruff exterior, nobody had a bigger heart. He would give the shirt off of his back to help family or friends. He was a proud retired Iron Worker and he was never afraid to travel in search of work and opportunity for his family. He had boundless energy and loved to keep moving. He will be missed by many. He was a husband, a friend, our dad, and a true angel of the sky perched up high. With callused hands of steel, and feet so strong, my dad made dreams come true from here to there and everywhere. He was the best and always will be, and now he is flying high like a bright, beautiful bird spreading his wings on beautiful things somewhere in the heavenly sky. We love you dad with all our heart, and we shall never be apart. You are always on our mind, and live with us all the time. Sometimes when I'm sitting down I look around and it's like a déjà vu when I think of you. With infinite memories of you to last our whole life through each memory will always remind us of you.
