DENIS AIMIE NOLIN On Friday, March 11, 2016 after a lengthy illness and courageous struggle, Denis Aimie Nolin, aged 78 years of Stonewall, MB passed away at Rosewood Lodge. Denis is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Shirley (nee Williamson), of 58 years; three sons, Bob (Lorelei), Larry and Brian; two daughters Carol (Randy) Ritchie and Deb (Glen) Morrison; grandchildren: Trevor (Kim) Nolin and their children Ricky, Hunter and Hannah; Jason (Candace) Ritchie and their son William; Ryan Ritchie; Brad (Becky) Ritchie and their son Maverick; Matt Ritchie (fiancee Alexis) and their sons Charlie and Johnny; Nicole (Shane) Klassen and their children Emily, Jackson and Neil; Brody Nolin; Hayley Morrison, and Breanne Nolin. Also surviving are Denis's brother Maurice, sister Rae (Roger) DeMontenay, sisters-in-law Ruby Moore, Rosemary Williamson and Lynn Williamson, brother-in-law Jim Williamson, seven nieces and nine nephews. Denis was predeceased by his parents Alphonse and Elize Nolin, in-laws Reuben and Irene Williamson, son Ricky Nolin, and grandson baby Glen Morrison. Denis was born on April 26, 1937 in St. Boniface, MB and raised in Lorette, MB. He was employed as a truck driver for Brake, Drum and Wheel in Winnipeg when he met his wife Shirley. After they were married he started working for Comstock International while raising their six children. The family relocated to Stonewall in 1971 to be closer to work. Denis did long haul trucking across Canada and would be gone for months at a time. After leaving Comstock he started working for Maple Leaf Construction hauling heavy equipment until suffering a stroke in June of 1998 at the age of 60. Denis and Shirley were able to travel to several tropical destinations in the winter months and spent their summer weekends at their seasonal lot at the Narrows. As well, hunting and fishing were well loved pastimes throughout his life. Denis had a joyful spirit and loved to poke fun with those around him. His smile was one that would light up a room and at times full of mischief, leaving behind many fond memories for all those around him. Our family wishes to express sincerest thanks to the home care workers that took care of Denis while he was at home, the staff at Rosewood Lodge for their care and compassion shown to Denis aka "Trouble" over the past 12 years, and Dr Pinniger and Dr. Graham for taking care of him over the years. Funeral service to be held on Monday, March 21, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Stonewall, MB. Cremation has taken place with interment at a later date for the family. With the family's wishes, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba in lieu of flowers. "In tears we saw you sinking, We watched you fade away, You suffered so much in silence, You fought so hard to stay. You faced your task with courage, But still you kept on fighting, Until the very end. God saw you getting tired, When cure was not to be, So He put His arm around you, And whispered "Come with Me" So when we saw you sleeping, So peacefully free from pain, We could not wish you back, To suffer that again."
