LORNA MUYS (nee DOLINSKI) 1942 - 2016 Sadly after a short battle with cancer, Lorna passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Grace Hospice with all of her family by her side. Lorna will be lovingly remembered by her husband George Muys; children, Cindy Tremblay, Wendy (Mike) Ray, and Jerry (Dawne) Muys; her grandchildren, that meant the world to her, Ilish (Tyler), Chyna, Sayge, Kaeli (Nick), Brianna, Griffin, Colin and Kaitlyn; and her sister Lorraine (Frank) Devenney. She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Delilah Dolinski and her brother Lorne Dolinski. Lorna was born in Vita, Manitoba. As a young child her family moved to Winnipeg. She met George in 1959. In her younger days she worked for Noella as a hairdresser. Lorna married George in 1961 and built a house to expand their family. Lorna loved and adored her grandchildren and over the years had two poodles which she also cherished. In the early 1980's they built a family cottage in Ontario, which she enjoyed all year round. In the past few years George and her became snowbirds and headed to Texas each winter. Lorna was a strong independent woman. The family would like to thank all the nurses at Grace Hospice, you took such good care of her and we appreciate everything you have done for our family. You are all truly gifted nurses and you put faith back into the medical profession on how to care for people. Lorna's wishes were to not have a funeral service so the family is honouring her wishes and we will hold a private gathering to say our goodbyes. We love you mom, we wouldn't be here without you. You have guided us through our lives to make us who we are and we will cherish every moment. You are now in heaven looking down upon us and we will make you proud. You will never be forgotten and your legacy and stories will be passed down for generations to come. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Grace Hospital Foundation (Hospice Fund), 300 Booth Dr, Winnipeg MB R3J 3M7. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website.
