LAWRENCE (LARK) MERCER January 27, 1947 - March 13, 2016 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Lawrence Martin Mercer. Originally from Sydney, NS. (Cape Breton Island) Lawrence travelled extensively across Canada and the U.S. He loved to travel and experience new things. He is predeceased by his mother Greta and father Ernest, both born in Sydney, NS. Lawrence leaves behind his wife Beverly, his children Leah Mercer and Marcus Mercer, his grandchildren, Rebecca, Danisha and Maybella; his brother Roy and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extensive friends. Everyone who knew Lawrence (Lark) will miss him greatly and he will be remembered for living life to the fullest. There will be no formal service and he is going to be cremated and will go home to Gillis Lake where he spent every summer with his family and friends. Gillis Lake is a very special place for him and he spent most of his life there. The family would like to thank the Grace Hospital for all their efforts to help him. • I'm so sorry to hear about Lawrence. My deepest condolences. I worked with Lawrence at Maple Leaf Consumer Foods until he left to pursue other adventures, He would bring me his paper work to the front office at the end of the day and fill me in on what was happening on the floor. Sometimes bringing pictures to show and tell me about all the different plants and flowers he had all around his yard. RIP. - Posted by: Susanne Langver (co-worker at Maple Leaf) on: Mar 29, 2016

  • I remember Lawrence as a hard working, helpful, nice respectful man. I enjoyed working with him, he was always ready to help out his coworkers and was well liked. Rest in peace dear Lawrence - Posted by: Lori King (co worker at Burns/Maple Leaf) on: Mar 19, 2016
