LENORA (NORA) CRICHTON March 31, 1941 - March 16, 2016 On March 16, 2016, Nora found her peace. Mom to Susan (Craig) and Scott (Vita), Nana to Julia and sister to Joan (Guy) and Don (Elna, nieces Shannon and Lindsay), she is forever loved. Nora was born in Kenora, Ontario to Elinor and Leonard Creedon. Kenora and Lake of the Woods always remained her place of solace and refuge. Nora enjoyed a rewarding career as an English as a Second Language teacher at numerous schools in Pembina Trails School Division. She was also a passionate community and political activist and was involved with many community and political organizations. As a founding member of the Fort Garry Women's Resource Centre, women's issues were a particular passion. Testament to this is the strong and wide circle of loving, loyal and supportive friends who remained at her side until the end. One of her greatest pleasures was preparing meals for gatherings of family and friends. She was always the one to include others in her circle and was the epitome of unconditional acceptance and friendship. Thank you to the wide circle of love that has embraced us over the last several months. Our mom was always the first to do that for others and the lesson is, that in the end, love and forgiveness wins. A celebration of Nora's life will be held on Saturday, April 23 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. Should friends desire, contributions can be sent to Fort Garry Women's Resource Centre, 1150 Waverley Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3T 0P4 in Nora's memory. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest". Matthew 11:28 THOMSON "IN THE PARK" 204-925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com
