THOMAS RAE BELLAMY August 16, 1949 - March 18, 2016 After a courageous battle with cancer of almost a year, Tom passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital. Although gone from this world, he will be fondly remembered by all those whose lives he touched. Left to hold his memories are his wife Jackie; children, Craig (Sophia) and Cherilyn (Reid); stepchildren, Bonnie (Darin), Dawn (Steve) and Jason; grandchildren, Eriq, Adon, Makaela, Lana Rae and Jackson; as well as siblings, Terry, Irene, Darlene, Gail, Lisa, Joanne, Chuck, Norman, Brian, and Joseph and his extended family and friends. Tom will be welcomed home with open arms by his parents, sister Dale, as well as some close friends who were never far from his thoughts. Tom touched many lives through his time as a teacher, his time with various retail shipping and receiving positions, his membership with the Royal Canadian Legion, and St. Vital Curling Club. Some of his favorite times were spent either on the curling rink in the winter months or tending to his garden under the summer sun. His most cherished time was spent playing with his grandchildren and watching them grow. A Celebration of Tom's Life will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Interment to follow. The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Krahn and the team at CancerCare as well as the palliative care staff (home based as well as at St. Boniface Hospital) for the kindness, dedication, and generosity of time that they provided to Tom in his final days.
