HARRY MUNGHAM May 15, 1927 - March 25, 2016 Our loving father passed away peacefully at the St. Norbert Personal Care Home in the early hours of March 25, 2016, with support from family and devoted care workers. He leaves to mourn his daughter Lynne (Ralph) Booker, son Barry (Lexie) Mungham, grandson Brent (Kathy) Booker, granddaughter Lisa (Mark) Makaruk, granddaughter Andrea (Richard) Granger, and great-grandchildren, Madisyn Makaruk, Noah Granger and Aiden Granger, as well as many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Dad was born in Basswood, Manitoba, and was predeceased by his parents, wife Lois, as well as his younger brother, Dave Mungham, and younger sisters Myra Thomas, and Rosa Fun. After serving a brief stint in the army, Dad apprenticed as a bricklayer and stonemason, and practiced his craft until he retired in his early 60s. He set a high standard in his work, not wanting to do anything unless he did it right. He has left a legacy on many of the commercial buildings and the architecture of downtown Winnipeg, as well as in brick and stone work on numerous residential homes throughout the city, and province of Manitoba. Dad met our mom in Winnipeg, while she attended Normal School, and they were married in 1947, and were lifelong residents of Winnipeg. He had a zest for life, twinkle in his eye, and a passion for gardening, famous especially for his multitude of tomato plants, and immaculate yard. Unfortunately, in retirement health issues hampered his freedom to enjoy life to the fullest, but he never gave up his love of life, and his family and many friends.
