KOSMAN June 1, 1949 - March 30, 2016 It is with profound sadness that we announce Gordie passed away at home, peacefully early Wednesday morning, after a decade long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by the family he cherished. Gordie leaves behind his loving wife of 47 years, Marcie (nee Malo) and his three children, Kim (Glen), Jason (Kirstyn) and Charles (Micki). Beloved Papa will also be missed by his seven grandchildren, Kailey (Kere), Zachary, Brett, Ella, Jolon, Cole and Jordan. Predeceased by his parents, Charles and Anne Kosman and his sister Marlene, he also leaves behind his siblings Shirley (Bill), Alex (Val), Peter (Laurie) and Cheryl (René). Uncle Gord will also be sadly missed by dozens of nieces, nephews, cousins and his in-laws. Gord was born and raised in St. Adolphe where he owned a successful painting business for 35 years. Gord and Marcie enjoyed many summers with extended family and friends in St. Malo. Upon retirement they fulfilled their dream of living on the lake near Lac du Bonnet and also enjoyed many "Happy Hours" with their fellow winter Texans. Gord loved old cars and old country music however his greatest love was being surrounded by friends and family. Everyone who knew Gord loved his quick wit and big smile. His absence will leave a hole in the hearts of all that knew him. He will be missed. A celebration of Gordie's life will be held at St. Adolphe R.C. Church, on Tuesday, April 5, 2016. A eulogy will begin at 1:30 p.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 2:00 p.m. LECLAIRE BROTHERS 475 Provencher Blvd., in care of arrangements, 204-775-2220

Marcie & family, our deepest condolences to you and your family. Although we were expecting to hear of Gordie's passing, it is still somewhat a shock when you get the news. He fought a long hard battle, and you always , his strength, his caregiver, his encourager. He truly did have a Joie de Vivre, how he loved his winters spent in Texas. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Love Ray & Lena - Posted by: Lena & Ray (Friends) on: Apr 03, 2016

So sad to hear of the passing of a great guy. Gord brought so much warmth and laughter to our lives and you left us way to soon. We have fond memories of great visits with you and Marcie at the lake and in Mission, Texas. Will miss those Happy Hours and all the fond memories we have shared and all the good old days in St. Adolphe that you use to love to talk about. Gord liked to talk about his children and grandchildren and was so proud of all of them. You will be greatly missed Gord but never forgotten. Look over us. - Posted by: Mona Joyal & Andre Desloges (Friends) on: Apr 02, 2016

My deepest condolences to the Kosman family - Marcie, his children, grandchildren, brothers and sister. I have many happy memories of Gordon when we were all young cousins and they would come visit us on the farm in Vita or we would go visit them in St. Adolphe.Unfortunately we lost touch when we became adults, but I still have wonderful family memories. Uncle Gordie was not only my favourite uncle but he was my God-father. He always had a big smile and hug for me. And made me feel extremely special. He did that to everyone. His charming smile and sense of humour was front and center in all of our conversations. When I was a little girl, he found a small ring in one of the empty suites he was painting. He gave it to me. It had black onyx stone and a coral stone in it. I treasured that ring; still do. And I still have it because it came from Uncle Gordie especially for me. I love you Uncle Gord! You will be missed but not forgotten and forever in my heart. - Posted by: Carolyne Hadaller (Dubé) (Niece) on: Apr 01, 2016
