  • Across the miles, Valerie was always a warm presence, a wonderful, loving wife, mother and friend. When I first met her, in the early 1990's, I was struck by how welcoming she was, with a profound Faith and positivity of outlook. In fact, she was the agent of the uniting of Monica Hodgson's three children in Canada and South Africa. I have especially fond memories of her during the time the siblings were able to spend together as a family at Tony's home in the summer of 2011. An extraordinary person in many ways, she extended her love and interest to my eldest daughter, with whom she shared a bond of belief in the Christian Faith. - Posted by: Tremaine Brislin, Natalie Naude, Ben and Jessica Brislin (Sister-in-law and family) on: Apr 02, 2016
