PRITAM SINGH LOTEY We regret to announce the sudden death of Pritam Singh Lotey with his wife by his side. He passed away on March 30, 2016 at his home in Winnipeg at the age of 75. He will be sadly missed by his wife Nirmal Kaur. Left to cherish his memory are his son Manjit Singh (Hardeep), brother Nirvair Singh (Harbhajan Kaur), brother-in-law Bijay Singh (Navneet) and sister-in-law Surjeet Kaur Saran (Harbhajan Singh). He also leaves to mourn his passing, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and other family and friends. He was predeceased by his father S. Kishan Singh Lotey, mother Kartar Kaur and sister Pritam Kaur. In 1940 Pritam was born in Layal Pur Punjab, India. After 1947, when India partitioned, he moved to New Delhi. In 1969 he travelled to England via Middle East, Europe on motorcycle and returned to India. In 1971 he left India again to explore for a better future and settled in Thompson, Manitoba. From 1972 to 2003 he worked as a miner and a mechanic in Inco Mining in Thompson. In 2008 he moved to Winnipeg for his retirement life. A celebration of Pritam's life will be held on Thursday, April 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard with Giani Gurdeep Singh officiating. Prayers will be said on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 3.30 p.m. at The Winnipeg South Sikh Center, 500 Dover Court (off Scurfield Boulevard). Appreciation goes to all family and friends for helping in good and bad times. If friends so desire, Memorial Contributions can be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation.
