ROLAND DENIS It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Roland Denis on April 5, 2016 at the young age of 63, after a courageous battle with cancer. Left to forever cherish his memory are his children Tracy and Jennifer (Richard), foster sons Blair and Chad; his five grandchildren Tyler, Joshua, Logan, Darrian and Kierra; his wife Angie and stepchildren. He is survived by his mother Germaine of Ottawa, nephews and nieces in Manitoba and Gatineau, our mother Marie, and numerous cousins in and around Ottawa. He was predeceased by his father Roger, sister Pauline and brother-in-law Gerry. Special thanks to Bernie for the love and care you have given our dad during this time. Cremation has taken place, but a celebration of life will be held on April 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Inner City Youth Alive, 418 Aberdeen Ave., corner of Salter and Aberdeen. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dad's name to CancerCare Manitoba. We hold you close, relief as well as pain But knowledge in the truth That we may meet again. J'taime papa

Roland was a great person. He and his wife Marie took me into there home. He worked hard and never quit. He taught me to do the same. I learned so much on the farm from him and a lot I still use today. I even taught myself how to light the manure pile on fire by MISTAKE , but we won't go there!!! He may have lost his battle in the real world, but stay right here it the hearts of all who knew him. Thank you Roland R.I.P - Posted by: Chadwin Neufeld (Foster Child) on: Apr 09, 2016

Marie let me know about Roland. Thank-you! Although we have not keep in close contact I recall our being neighbors and friends. Roland was always busy and was helpful to Jim and I when needed. He was not easily deterred and had stamina when dealing with adversity and illness. I will remember him fondly and want to convey my condolences to all. And "yes" he was too young which is too often the case. He fought the "good fight". Keep your memories of him close to your hearts and know you are in my thoughts and prayers. - Posted by: Gale Hume (friend/fomer neighbour) on: Apr 09, 2016
