J. DENNIS DRURY July 18, 1946 - April 7, 2016 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving husband, father, and grandfather following a lengthy illness. Dennis passed away peacefully at Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home at the age of 69 years. Left to cherish Dennis' memory are his wife Shadia, daughter Kelly Fewer (Gary), and his granddaughter Ella. He was predeceased by his parents Jack and Martha. Dennis was an avid golfer with a caring and generous heart. His encyclopedic knowledge was evident not only in his career as a chartered accountant, but also his interest in every facet of life, especially music and sports. Our family would like to extend our most heartfelt thank you to the staff at Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home, not only for the care and compassion shown to Dennis, but to our family. A service in celebration of Dennis' life will be held on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Movement Disorder Clinic or Parkinson Canada. THOMSON "IN THE PARK" 204-925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Peggy informed me today of the passing of Dennis. I think of the hours we spent on the Falcon Lake Golf Course, the wonderful meals that Shadia prepared, the hours listening to Dennis talk about blues and jazz. I especially remember his riding his bike down the roads at Falcon Lake. You are all in my prayers. Yes Dennis was a very unique individual. - Posted by: Peter Whiteway (friend from Falcon Lake) on: Apr 25, 2016

  • Shad, Kelly, Gary & Ella, my condolences to you all. I enjoyed every visit with Dennis. He was so genuine and was truly interested when he would ask how I was. We shared some great golf tales. His eyes would light up at the mention of Ella's name and I know he loved you deeply as you did to him in return. He will be missed. - Posted by: Tammie Dueck Cutting Loose Hair Design (friend/hairstylist) on: Apr 13, 2016

  • We met Dennis through our friend, his daughter Kelly. It was obvious how much he loved his family. His favourite activity was watching Ella play, and his eyes danced when he watched her antics. He was a gentle, kind man and we knew how deeply he was loved by the compassion and care given to him by Kelly, Shadia and Gary during his illness. Our deepest sympathies to those who loved him and knew him for the generous and caring man he was. - Posted by: Leslie Prizeman and Kimberly Rokala (Family friend) on: Apr 13, 2016
